Just{elation} loves quality flashlights.  Heck, anything quality is appreciated here!  So it’s no surprise that the next review coming is of the Fenix LD41 Flashlight.  When night overtakes the day, this outdoor flashlight comes to life at an amazing 520 lumens.  It includes a unique dual button tail cap, you’ll find the power button allows for a momentary on/off with a half press of the button, while a firmer press offers a solid click indicating that the torch is locked to the on setting.  The smaller button next to the power button allows you to cycle through the brightness settings:

Turbo: 520 Lumens

High: 190 Lumens

Mid: 80 Lumens

Low: 5 Lumens

Strobe: 520 Lumens

SOS: 80 Lumens

The Fenix cycles through the settings, remembering your last brightness setting when you power it back on.  To enter one of the strobe settings, press and hold the mode button for a second and you’ll enter disco strobe mode, or hold it 2 more seconds to enter SOS mode.  Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Cree XM-L (U2) LED throws the light an impressive 650′ (200 meters).  Those 4 batteries don’t last forever though, here’s an approximate rundown of how long they’ll last:

Turbo: 2 hours 10 minutes

High: 7 hours 30 minutes

Mid: 20 hours

Low: 160 hours

Tested to IPX-8 standards of being submerged for 2 hours at 1 meter under water, you’ll not be left high and dry if this thing takes a swim, or if the rain starts pounding you.  With a body made of aircraft-grade aluminum, you’ll be sure to not have problems with durability, especially with drops of up to 1 meter, which it’s tested to withstand without problem…I imagine the toughened ultra-clear glass helps keep it all durable.

Being a tad too big for a clip, it comes with a nice holster and lanyard, as well as a spare o-ring in case the current one gets damaged.  Be sure to keep one handy as you’ll only need the power of this LD41 when you’re away from civilization and your cell phone is dead.  We’ll keep you up to date with the reliability and testing of this flashlight in the days to come!
