Icebreaker Hike+ Socks

You’ve got to know when enough is enough buying socks.  Here at Just{elation} we love some Merino Wool socks, so cheers to starting a review of the Icebreaker Hike+ Crew Socks.

In a word: Comfortable.

…or durable…

…or not smelly…

But seriously folks, Icebreaker of New Zealand knows how to make some socks!  With all the benefits of Merino Wool mixed with 37% Nylon and 3% Elastane, you get what Icebreaker dubs as an incredibly comfortable, blister-free socks.  So let’s test that out and see just what we get for our money out of these compared to our {also beloved} Darn Tough socks…or against some Injinji Toe Socks…or heck, maybe even against some Smartwool sock offerings.

First impressions are that the socks fit true to size, and are snug in all the right places.  Sliding them into shoes does extremely well against bunching up…meaning they don’t do it much at all!  Compared to Darn Tough, they tend to hold odors worse.  Don’t get me wrong though, they’re not smelly after they air out for a minute or two, but you’ve got to use some caution when removing your shoes next to someone else!

Just how durable are they?  Well, after a month of use, they’re going strong…they’ve held form to the shape of my feet, potentially due to the fact I always let them hang dry and never let them see the dryer.  They hold their original color perfectly fine.  I fully expect them to be going strong for quite some time!
