With gas prices constantly on the rise, cycling is continually growing as one way to combat the battle at the gas pump.  Cycling is a great way to beat several battles in fact…it’s excellent exercise (fitness = lower health bills), saves wear and tear on our cars, is environmentally friendly, cuts down on traffic…the ways that cycling benefits us is almost endless!

Timbuk2 has made something to help us incorporate cycling into our everyday lives even easier with the Tandem Pannier.  Trips to the grocery store? No problem.  Trips to the office?  No Problem.  Trips to a friend’s party? No Problem.

The Tandem Pannier offers a slew of features that make it stand out from the rest of the pack.  First, you’ll notice the tarpaulin fabric that they’re made of has a rubbery coating to help keep your precious contents dry.  The panniers have a velcro attachment mechanism to make putting them on and off your bike’s rack quick and easy.  Large storm flaps aid in the process of keeping the contents dry, held in place by large velcro strips and wide buckles to ensure they don’t accidentally fly open.  On the back, you’ll find a strap on each side with reflective tape to help ensure you’re visible to those insane drivers at night.  These straps are a perfect place to clip a flashing rear bicycle taillight to help ensure you’re being seen!

Turning to the inside of the panniers shows that they have a laptop sleeve on each side, which comfortably holds a 15″ Macbook Pro with ease, again having a small strap to help hold it in place.  The inside of the panniers hold 24 liters (1465 cubic inches) of whatever you feel comfortable putting in there.

Another part that helps these stand out among the crowd?  Take them off the bike, and with the placement of magnets sewn into them they instantly draw themselves together…throw on the included shoulder strap and you’ve got yourself an instant single shoulder bag!  Innovations like this help Timbuk2 stand out in the sea of bags being produced.  Combine their innovative designs with their ethical operations as a company and you’ll be sure to fall in love with a bag guaranteed to last a lifetime!

So it begins…the long term test of the panniers by Just{elation} with updates at 1, 2, 4, 6, and 12 months!  Stay tuned for updates!

Update: The more groceries I carry on the back of the Novara Big Buzz with these panniers, the better.  These can carry a lot more groceries than you may expect, every time I push the limits, but I always end up at home with all the groceries I bought!  They’re holding up incredibly well, with no noticeable wear anywhere.  I’m constantly getting interesting people to ask more about why they see me at the grocery store, they’re far less interested in what I’m buying as they are with the fact that I’m saving cash (not buying gas!) and ask about my bike & panniers…Timbuk2 will sell out of these things if anyone actually takes my advice and gets them!

Hey there! I know this is sort of off-topic but I needed to
ask. Does running a well-established website
such as yours take a lot of work? I’m completely new to running a blog however I do write in my journal everyday. I’d like to start
a blog so I can share my own experience and
thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any recommendations
or tips for new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!
